The subject of abductions in UFO lore has long been contentious, and rightfully so. With little to rely on besides the regressed memories of alleged abductees by hypnotists with often questionable credentials, the lack of solid physical evidence or independent witnesses to corroborate victims’ accounts is both frustrating and perhaps telling. However, to dismiss the thousands upon thousands of similar abduction accounts outright is to completely miss the point.
Something strange is going on. There is no doubt about that. Whether it has to do with actual alien beings, mass hysteria or hallucinations, or some global human consciousness connection type thingy, we do not know. The truth is however, that whatever the explanation, it’s bound to be highly interesting…and far from straightforward. So why are the medical and scientific communities so dismissive of the alien encounter experience?
One case worth studying is the experience of Victorian woman Kelly Cahill. What sets Kelly’s experience apart from the multitude of other abduction cases is that here, there are two important elements; independent witnesses to the event and physical trace evidence of some kind of craft.
Kelly’s experience began when driving home with her husband through the foothills of the Dandenongs east of Melbourne, during the early hours of 8 August 1993.
Driving along the dark road, they suddenly witnessed a massive UFO land in the paddock opposite them. Kelly swore to her husband that she could see beings inside the craft. Later, she would discover ‘missing time’ however her husband refused to accept this aspect of their encounter.
As they watched the UFO, Kelly noticed another car with a man and a woman inside also watching the strange craft. When these witnesses were later tracked down, they were not only able to corroborate Kelly’s story, but they revealed yet another car was on the road that night also and that the male driver was “gazing fixedly toward the encounter site”.
So, we have two sets of independent witnesses revealing “a remarkable amount of similar information” to back Kelly’s story. But that’s not all…a Victorian investigative team found possible related ground traces and a low-level magnetic anomaly at the encounter site.
